The JUE-501, the latest-generation maritime communication solution from JRC, is compactly designed, easy to install and puts high-speed connectivity right at your fingertips. Based on 3G standards, FleetBroadband provides constant, simultaneous access to voice and high-speed data, capable of supporting always-on broadband connectivity at speeds up to 432kbps and streaming IP data rate of up to 256kbps. It allows users to send and receive SMS messages of up to 160 characters, a feature that is proven popular with crew who are familiar with texting from their GSM mobiles while on shore. The JUE-501 integrates a blockage setting which allows you to register up to 6 blocking areas such as the radar mast or funnel. When the line of sight to the satellite coincides with any of the pre-registered blocking areas, the operator can easily recognize that there is a blockage and can take necessary action such as course change, to restore the connection.

JUE-60GX

The new ultrafast GX service is designed for reliability as well as speed. Inmarsat’s Fleet Xpress hybrid service (Ka-band Global Xpress JUE-60GX backed by L-band resilience FleetBroadband family JUE-251 or JUE-501 and a Network Service Device) will take your operational efficiency to the next level, providing unsurpassed reliability, even with heavy precipitation and antenna blockage*. The design of a lightweight but ultra strong radome for the Ka-band environment has been a particular challenge. JRC engineers used a 3 layer sandwich Fibre Reinforced Plastic (FRP) with a special resin-honeycomb structure for the core of just a few millimeters. The honeycomb structure gives the radome high strength and is extremely lightweight. The JRC JUE-60GX Global Xpress solution core module (made by iDirect) is placed in the terminal, fitted below deck. For optimal connectivity, two separate coax cables with a maximum length of 60 meters are used for transmitting and receiving signals.

Tron AIS SART

The unique and innovative feature of the Tron AIS SART is the combination of its physical size and technical capability. The housing of the Tron AIS SART is identical to Jotron´s Radar-SART, type Tron SART20, – that is a total height of 251 mm and a weight of only 450g. Technically, the Tron AIS SART is based on the following principals; the unit will be programmed from the manufacturer with a unique ID code and receives its position via an internal GPS antenna. This data is combined and transmitted using the international AIS channels (AIS A and AIS B) in the maritime VHF band. Stored in a quick release carry off bag, the rugged McMurdo SmartFind S5 AIS SART is buoyant and waterproof to a depth of 10m. When activated, the SmartFind S5 transmits an alert message along with your ID number and current GPS location which will trigger an alarm on all AIS equipped vessels within VHF range.
